AltCam
Match the angle, then reveal the difference with a slider
Photo & Video
Screenshots
AltCam is a simple way to capture change — a renovation, a garden, a haircut, a workout journey or a project in progress. Take the Before photo, come back later, and AltCam helps you shoot the After from exactly the same angle.
Match the angle
When you take the After photo, the Before shot is shown on top of the camera as a transparent layer. Adjust its opacity from 0 to 100%, or press and hold to Blink between the two. Align hints show arrows for direction, distance and tilt; when the framing holds steady you see "Angle matched", a green frame and a single gentle haptic tap.
On supported iPhone and iPad models, AR mode saves a spatial map with the Before photo. When you come back, AltCam restores the position and guides you to the same spot — even days later. Matching runs entirely on the device with Apple Vision and ARKit.
Compare and fine-tune
- Slider, Side by Side, Before or After views
- Move, scale and rotate each photo independently with gestures or sliders
- One crop for both photos: Original, 1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9 or Free Crop
- Labels: AltCam, Before / After, your own text, or none
- Your originals are never modified — edits are stored separately
Share the result
Export a still slider, side-by-side image or the individual frames as JPEG or PNG. With Pro, create MP4 videos — Slider Reveal, Fade or Blink, 2, 3 or 5 seconds, up to 1080p. Share through the system share sheet or save straight to Photos.
Your photos stay with you
No account, no server, no advertising and no analytics. Photos and AR maps are stored only on your device and are excluded from cloud backup — export the comparisons that matter to you. Imports use Apple's photo picker without full library access.
